A Typical QSO

 
Though Amateur Radio Operators (HAM) talk over Radios throughout the year irrespective of any lockdown, because this is what the Hobby is. There are "Daily Net", "Weekly Net", "Special Net" and sometime "Emergency Net". There are many HAM who check in the Net on regular basis, few come on air as and when they get time, but during this COVID-19 Lockdown more and more HAM started coming on air. As during the summer season because of the "Duct" formation here in Gujarat , VHF/UHF signals travel long distance (DX) so Gujarat HAM enjoy DXing over 2m / 70 cm bands. This is the time for HAM to set right their "Working Conditions" for pleasant and comfortable QSO with 5/9 report.
A typical QSO goes like this :  

Time 7.30 AM, I put on my Kenwood TM-V71A and tuned to frequency 145.500 Mhz. 

VU2OPX : CQ CQ CQ this is VU2OPX calling and standing by. (silence of a minute). Anybody on frequency, please copy VU2OPX.

VU2RTG : VU2RTG ! Good morning Shardul. VU2OPX-VU2RTG

VU2OPX : Good Morning Rajubhai. Thanks for coming back to my call. You are 5/9++. How do you copy me? Over. 

VU2RTG : VU2OPX-VU2RTG returning. Shardul you are 5/9++ on my 6 element Yagi facing towards South. I reinstalled it yesterday evening and want to test it 
with some other stations now. The height of the mast is only 15 feet. I don't know how is the band condition now. Over.
